MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear ISFP members,

With the dawn of the year 2012, I would like to express my best wishes for your happiness and success. 2011 was a very exciting and productive year for us. ISFP is now recognized as a leading organization for fertility preservation in the world. The 2nd ISFP World Congress on Fertility Preservation in Miami Beach was a huge success, as evidenced by the volume of attendees and the quality of the scientific sessions. I deeply appreciate your encouraging comments and feedbacks about the Congress.

During the past 5 years, ISFP membership has grown steadily in both quantity and quality. To fulfill the mission of ISFP, we have been putting forth efforts towards advances in the field of fertility preservation, through activities such as educating health care providers and the general public, conducting scientific meetings, publishing newsletters, encouraging international networking, building a general consensus for practice guidelines, and advocating new discoveries.

In the next 5 years, ISFP will solidify its status as a leading international organization that directs and guides the future of this field. However, this will not be possible without your dedication and contribution to the Society. I strongly encourage all of you (especially our younger colleagues) to participate in the activities of ISFP in many different ways.

There are many challenges in front of us, including drawing attention and cooperation from our oncology colleagues, promoting scientific innovation and advances, establishing a registry for ovarian tissue banking, advocating for the rights of our patients, and improving the efficacy and quality of patient care. I have every confidence that we will rise to meet these challenges, and that the year 2012 will be another exciting and successful year for ISFP.

Thank you.

Best Wishes,

S. Samuel Kim. MD
President, ISFP
